Justine Baltazar has declared his intention to enter the 2022 PBA Rookie Draft.
The 6-foot-7 big man out of De La Salle University beat the Saturday deadline for applicants, submitting his form at the league’s office in Libis, Pasig later afternoon.
League commissioner Willie Marcial confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.
Baltazar, 25, is set to be a three-time UAAP Mythical Team member.
In his final year with the Green Archers, the native of Pampanga averaged 12.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, 3.07 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks in 15 games played.
Tiebreaker Times earlier reported that there is also a lot of interest from B.League teams coming in Baltazar’s way.
Players can still withdraw their intentions to enter the draft days before the draft. This year’s draft will happen on May 15.
Also entering this year’s draft is his La Salle co-captain Kurt Lojera.
Lojera, 25, is a 6-foot-1 guard. He turned heads in his final year of collegiate eligibility.
The Filipino-American guard normed 10.19 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.69 assists, and 1.44 steals in 16 games played.
