Justin Brownlee reveals Sisi Rondina as his favorite volleyball star

Ginebra’s resident import Justin Brownlee made a surprise appearance in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Thursday.

Brownlee, who has been following the Philippine volleyball scene since 2018, shared that he wants to show his support to Filipina athletes and, of course, enjoy high-caliber volleyball matches.

“Just coming here to enjoy volleyball matches. I was invited by my friend here. I just wanted to come and support the women athletes,” said the naturalized Filipino.

“I’m going to watch both games. I’m just excited to see the women athletes perform and see what they’ve got. I’m sure it’s going to be entertaining, so I’m just excited to see it,” added Brownlee.

Brownlee also revealed that Choco Mucho star Sisi Rondina, the reigning MVP of the All-Filipino Conference, is one of his favorite players in the PVL.

“No, not really. I do have a favorite player — Sisi Rondina. That’s one of my favorite players. I haven’t really had a chance to see her play in a while, so I think just coming to see her play would be nice,” said Brownlee.

The three-time PBA Best Import said that Rondina’s high-flying ways have always left him in awe, considering that she’s only standing at 5-foot-6.

“She’s all-around, for real. You know, she’s good at obviously soaring in the air and spiking the ball. She’s not on the taller side, but I think she’s just all-around,” said Brownlee.

“I’ve seen her play, I want to say, back in maybe 2018, 2019 before the pandemic. I haven’t seen her play, so I just want to come out and see some good volleyball matches.”
