June Mar Fajardo set to win 6th BPC crown

June Mar Fajardo is still ways above the competition when it comes to the All-Filipino conference

The four-time Most Valuable Player will cop his sixth Best Player of the Conference crown, and his fifth in the Philippine Cup.

The 6-foot-11 big man from Compostela, Cebu will run away with the award after amassing 44.2 statistical points. The 28-year-old averaged 22.9 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 1.81 blocks per game to lead the San Miguel Beermen to the Finals.

Japeth Aguilar is a far second in the race with 36.7 SPs.

Close behind Aguilar is Fajardo’s teammate Arwind Santos. The former league MVP was second in blocks with an average of 1.88 per game to go along with norms of 15.76 points, 9.94 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.65 steals.

GlobalPort’s Stanley Pringle and Blackwater’s JP Erram complete the top five, tallying 36.1 and 35.3 SPs respectively.

Completing the top ten are Alex Cabagnot (6th), Matthew Wright, and Calvin Abueva (T-7th), Scottie Thompson (9th), and Jayson Castro (10th).

The top rookie is Kiefer Ravena. The second overall pick in the 2017 PBA Draft posted numbers of 15.84 points, 5.42 assists, and 1.58 steals in his first PBA conference. He is 14th in the BPC race.

The awarding of the trophy will be held during Game 4 of the on-going 2018 PBA Philippine Cup Finals. The SMART-Araneta Coliseum will host the coronation.
