June Mar Fajardo not a bit surprised at Brian Heruela’s performance

June Mar Fajardo and Brian Heruela have known each other since their collegiate days at the University of Cebu.

Ever since they both entered the pros — Fajardo in 2012 and Heruela in 2014 — the two have gone on to win three championships together with the San Miguel Beermen, with the 6-foot-11 amassing four Most Valuable Player awards while the 5-foot-10 point guard played off the bench.

But with Alex Cabagnot out due to a partial plantar fasciitis tear on his right foot, San Miguel’s bench needed to step up.

Wednesday evening, it was Heruela who stole the show, tallying his San Miguel-high of 17 points on 7-for-10 shooting to go along with six steals and five assists.
