Jules Samonte signs with Perlas

Jules Samonte’s next journey will lead her to the pros.

The Perlas Spikers have introduced the former Ateneo Lady Eagle, signing with them for the upcoming 2022 Premier Volleyball League.

“This is her next. Welcome to the Perlas Spikers, Jules Samonte

“Your fire and passion will surely bring so much energy to the team. Thank you for embarking on this journey with us. Your coaches and teammates are excited to work with you,” said the team’s statement.

In Samonte’s first year, she won the UAAP Season 79 Rookie of the Year honors.

A loyal soldier, Samonte also played for Ateneo in the UAAP beach volleyball competition for two seasons.

Then in her third year, she helped the Lady Eagles win the UAAP Season 81 crown.

Samonte would have been the co-captain of the Lady Eagles in Season 82 along with Dani Ravena. However, the season was cut short due to the ongoing pandemic.

Samonte left Ateneo after obtaining her degree.

Perlas finished the 2021 Open Conference with a 1-8 record.
