Juan Gomez de Liaño openly recruits CJ Cansino to go to UP

Social media started buzzing after Tiebreaker Times broke the news that University of Santo Tomas and CJ Cansino had “parted ways”.

As of publishing, “CJ Cansino” was the number three trending topic on twitter with over 2,000 tweets.

Even if the reason for the 20-year-old being either let go or leaving the Growling Tigers is still unknown, many student-athletes were already recruiting the 6-foot-2 utility guard.

“PM mo ko,” tweeted Letran’s Fran Yu that saw a “Wag ka maniwala diyan. CJ Cansino PM mo ko,” reply from La Salle’s Aljun Melecio.

La Salle transferee Evan Nelle sent out a simple, “Papssss CJ Cansino” tweet.

But out of all the tweets, Cansino replied to two. One from Juan Gomez de Liaño, whom he had numerous memorable battles with, and another from Shaun Ildefonso of the tumultuous NU Bulldogs.

“Bro, the doors are always open, CJ Cansino. Nowhere to go but?” tweeted Gomez de Liaño, who will sit out Season 83.

“Basta babalik ka,” replied Cansino.

“Gusto ko lang sabihin pre, ‘We’ve got it all for you’,” tweeted Shaun Ildefonso of National University.

“Boss, baka may 50-percent off diyan,” quipped Cansino, not minding the offer.

Cansino will have to sit out one year before being able to play. And if he decides to still remain in the UAAP, he will only have two playing years left… Just like Juan.
