Juan Gomez de Liano has found stability with Converge.
The 25-year-old guard signed a three-year rookie max deal with the FiberXers on Saturday, marking the longest contract of his young career.
Present at the signing were Converge head coach Delta Pineda, team consultant Frank Lao, and Gomez de Liano’s agent, Marvin Espiritu of EMBM.
Prior to this, Gomez de Liano’s career had been built on shorter stints. He began with half a season at Tokyo Z, followed by a year with BC Wolves, before his longest run so far—a two-year stay with Seoul SK.
Now, the University of the Philippines product hopes to repay Converge’s trust with a championship.
“This is a huge step for me. I’m just focused and thankful now that I’m approaching my prime years. I feel blessed and glad to keep doing what I love at this level,” he told Tiebreaker Times.
The 6-foot guard joins a backcourt rotation that already includes Alec Stockton and Schonny Winston.
Up next for Converge is finalizing negotiations with Mikey Williams.
