Juan GDL goes scoreless vs Koshigaya as Tokyo Z suffers 13th loss in B.League

Poor shooting once again hounded Juan Gomez de Liano and Tokyo Z, absorbing a 55-76 loss at the hands of Koshigaya to remain winless in the 2021-22 B.League Division II season, Sunday at Wing Hat Kasukabe.

Horrid was the shooting of Earthfriends, going just 31-percent from the field — including 6-of-32 from downtown.

The Tokyo Z defense also allowed the Alphas to shoot 49-percent from the field.

For his part, Gomez de Liano went 0-of-3 from the field with three turnovers. He played 17 minutes.

The rout started in the second quarter that saw a 20-15 Tokyo Z lead turn into a 42-29 deficit. The Alphas’ lead would go to as high as 22 points multiple times in the final frame.

Koshigaya, who went up to 10-3 in the east, was led by Jonathan Octeus’ 15 points and Isaac Butts’ 13 points and eight rebounds.

Tomoya Hasegawa and Shun Matsuyama had 11 and 10 points, respectively, while combining for 11 rebounds.

Tokyo Z, who fell down to 0-13, was led by the 19 points of Joshua Crawford. He also had eight rebounds.

Mie Birishibe also had 10 points as Eddy Norelia was limited to just nine points and nine rebounds.

Tokyo Z looks to finally notch its first win on Friday against Ehime.
