Jose Rizal University has concluded its own investigation on the John Amores incident that happened last November 8 during their games against College of Saint Benilde at the Filoil Flying Ecooil Centre.
The university concluded that Amores will be removed from all varsity programs of the school for his role in the melee that saw him hit four Blazers with 3:22 left in the said game.
JRU’s sanctions on Amores will be on top of the indefinite suspension he was meted by the NCAA.
“Contingent with this action: (i) all privileges accruing to Mr. Amores as a student-athlete have been canceled; and (ii) based on the Student Manual of the University, he has been further meted out the penalty of suspension from his classes and has been required to undergo community service,” the school said in a statement to GMA 7’s 24 Oras on Tuesday evening.
JRU will not be expelling Amores from their school as they will seek proper treatment for the 23-year-old senior.
“Mr. Amores will also be provided counseling and help to cope with the strain of what has taken place in his young life,” the statement continued.
A,pres is also suspended from attending classes and will have to satisfy community service.
Amores also has pending cases filed by University of the Philippines’ Mark Belmonte and CSB’s Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis.
