Joshua Pacio didn’t deny that he wants to see himself in ONE on TNT events in the future, just like some of his Team Lakay brothers.
The reigning ONE strawweight champion is raring for the opportunity to be part of the event series born after ONE Championship and Turner Broadcasting forged a partnership earlier this year.
“Every athlete naman, gustong maging part ng ONE on TNT,” he told the Philippine Sportswriters Forum Tuesday.
“And so we’re putting in the work. Marami pa namang ONE on TNT na darating, and we’re getting ready.”
Philippine MMA legend Eduard Folayang will see action in ONE on TNT IV on April 29. Stephen Loman and Lito Adiwang also would have been in the four-part extravaganza, but the coronavirus forced them out.
Folayang, a former ONE lightweight champ, has been booked to face Japanese legend Yoshihiro Akiyama. However, he is still undergoing strict monitoring after being in contact with Loman and Adiwang.
So while he waits for his turn with ONE on TNT, Pacio will be cheering on for his stablemate Folayang.
Pacio feels confident in Folayang’s chances against his fellow icon, citing the kind of hunger the accomplished fighter has in his return.
“Nakikita namin ngayon kung gaano ka-hungry si Kuya Eduard bumalik,” he said.
“Sinasabi niya nga sa’min na kung mananalo siya rito, talagang pag-iigihan niya and papanalunin niya two to three fights to get back into title contention.”
