John Amores got an unlikely “friend” as he faces three criminal cases.
On Monday evening, the 23-year-old Jose Rizal University student went to social media to show that he received a personal letter from the Office of the Vice President.
The letter itself was penned by Vice President Sara Duterte and received by JRU athletics director Paul Supan.
Though Amores did not bare what was written in the letter, he shared an excerpt saying that the concurrent Department of Education secretary is with him.
“Remember the lesson not the mistake. You have a friend from the Office of the Vice President.”
Amores gushed at note, saying that he will hold on to this for the rest of his life.
“Ipapa-frame ko to as a remembrance na sa dami ng bashers at negative critics may isang tao na ipapaalala sayo na mahalaga ka kahit di mo kaano-ano! I wont lose hope, somewhere in between in the darkest season of my life there’s still a light.”

Last November 8, Amores went on an on-court rampage, hitting four College of Saint Benilde players.
The league has suspended him while the school expelled him from its varsity program.
He is facing a criminal case in Quezon City (vs. Mark Belmonte) and two cases in San Juan (filed by Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis).
