Jerom Lastimosa, Michael Phillips, Mason Amos make Gilas 12 for SEAG

Two collegiate stalwarts will join stars from the Philippine Basketball Association in Gilas Pilipinas’ bid to regain Southeast Asian Games gold in Cambodia.

Ateneo de Manila University’s scorer Mason Amos, Adamson University’s shifty guard Jerom Lastimosa and De La Salle University’s big man Michael Phillips are part of the final 12 of Chot Reyes, along with nine other pros.

The development was reported by the Philippine Star’s Quinito Henson.

Joining Lastimosa and Phillips are Justin Brownlee, Christian Standhardinger, Calvin Oftana, Marcio Lassiter, CJ Perez, Chris Newsome, Chris Ross, Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, and Arvin Tolentino.

Reserves are Benjamin Phillips, Jeremiah Gray, and Aaron Black.

Gilas finished second in last year’s meet, bowing to Indonesia in the final game of the round robin competition.

The Philippines take on Malaysia (May 9), Cambodia (May 11), and Singapore (May 13) in the pool phase.
