Jericho Cruz is running it back with Guam after being named to its official roster for the November window of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers.
The San Miguel winger is among the 12 men Coach EJ Calvo called up for their crucial games against continental powerhouses China and Japan, hoping to pull off upsets to boost their chances of entering the tournament proper.
He is among the key cogs set for another tour of duty for the Micronesian side, along with Ernest Ross, Jonathan Galloway, and Darren Hechanova.
Reo Aiken, Joe Blas, Ben Borja, Tomas Calvo, Matthew Fegurgur, Mark Johnson, Takumi Simon, and Jamar White complete the lineup.
It is a slightly different cast compared to what Guam had back in the first window last February, with Curtis Washington and Tai Wesley not around this time.
The esteemed veterans helped the team split their assignments in that window, where they beat Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar by way of a 74-63 decision to bounce back from a 77-56 mauling at the hands of the Japanese in Tokyo.
Guam is set to host Japan on November 24 at the University of Guam Fieldhouse in Mangilao, aiming to get back and deal the Group C top seed its first loss of the Qualifiers after ending Window 1 with a clean 2-0 record.
But Calvo and Co. aren’t looking that far ahead as they still have to take on China on November 22 at the Hefei Sports Center in a clash of 1-1 teams.
