Jayson Castro joined an elite club during TNT’s 2020 PBA Philippine Cup clash versus fellow unbeaten team Phoenix Super LPG, Monday.
According to league stats chief Fidel Mangonon III, the decorated guard now has exactly 8,000 career points to his name.
He reached the milestone after scoring his first four points of the game, where the Tropang GIGA are gunning to extend their streak to four.
With this, Castro has become the sixth active player to have 8,000 points, next to Alex Cabagnot, Arwind Santos, James Yap, Mark Caguioa, and Asi Taulava.
Cabagnot entered the group just last week during San Miguel Beer’s bubble debut versus Rain or Shine.
Castro, who’s aiming to win his seventh PBA title, is the 32nd local and 35th player overall in PBA history to achieve the feat.
The 34-year-old has averages of 18.0 points, 5.67 assists, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.0 steals across three games.
