With the PBA approving the trade that sent him to Phoenix Super LPG, Javee Mocon immediately reported to the Fuel Masters on Tuesday.
Ealier in the day, the league’s trade committee had approved the proposal that sent Mocon to Phoenix while Rain or Shine received Nick Demusis, a 2023 PBA Rookie Draft first round pick, and 2024 second round pick.
The 27-year-old product of San Beda, who is being represented by Titan Management Group, then signed a three-year deal with the Fuel Masters later in the afternoon.
Mocon was drafted by the Elasto Painters as the sixth overall pick in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft.
The 6-foot-3 all-around forward made the All-Rookie Team in his first year.
In his third year, Mocon became one of the main men of the Elasto Painters, averaging 12.46 points, 8.08 rebounds, 3.69 assists, and 1.31 steals in the Philippine Cup and 11.09 points, 6.82 rebounds, 3.09 assists, and 1.0 steals in the Governors’ Cup.
However, Mocon and Rain or Shine could not come to terms during their extension talks.
In Phoenix, Mocon will form a formidable 1-2 punch with Matthew Wright.
