Jason Brickman is ready to return to the Philippines after five years.
The savvy 6-foot floor general will join Strong Group Athletics for their campaign in the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship, scheduled from January 24 to February 2, 2025.
This marks a reunion between Brickman and head coach Charles Tiu.
Brickman previously played under Tiu during his stint with Mighty Sports from 2016 to 2020, including the team’s triumphant run in the same Dubai tournament back in 2020.
“Thrilled to be working with him again. I’ve won two championships with him, and you won’t find a purer point guard than him,” said Strong Group head coach Charles Tiu.
“He’ll be great for our team. He’s a fantastic player, and we’ve been trying to make this happen for a while, so I’m glad we finally got the chance.”
Now 33 years old, Brickman spent the last four years playing for the Kaohsiung Aquas in Taiwan’s T1 League.
During his time with the team, he led them to the championship in the 2021-22 season, earning Best Import honors.
Brickman was also a two-time T1 League First Team selection and led the league in assists during the 2021-22 and 2023-24 seasons.
However, he was released by the Aquas in December 2024.
Brickman will now join former NBA All-Star DeMarcus Cousins in Strong Group’s redemption campaign as they aim to claim the Dubai crown after settling for second place last year.
