During the finale of the 2019 Chooks-to-Go/NBTC Nationals, FilAm Sports’ Jalen Green was reduced to a mere spectator.
And as he watched the National University Bullpups-Manila dismantle the La Salle Green Hills Greenies-Mandaluyong, the reigning FIBA Under-17 World Cup Most Valuable Player only had one thing in mind – he wants to come back and face NU once more.
“Yes, I will be back. I will come back.
“I need a rematch with them. I didn’t get to play with them this year but I played them last year. It will be cool if we did,” said the 17-year-old Filipino-American, who traces his roots to Ilocos Sur.
This time around, FilAm Sports fell in the Supreme 16, suffering a 91-97 loss to the San Beda Red Cubs-Manila.
Upon hearing this, the National Champions are looking forward to seeing Green next year as well.
“It’s always an honor to play against Jalen,” shared Finals MVP Carl Tamayo.
“Seriously, man. I’m grateful to play with him [during the All-Star Game].”
“It’s a privilege,” added Terrence Fortea, who has become a good friend to Green.
