Jack Animam just proved why she is the leading candidate to win Most Valuable Player honors in the University Basketball Alliance.
The UAAP Season 80 posted a monster statline, leading Shih Hsin University to a 94-63 rout of Fo Guang, Sunday at Taiwan University Gym.
The 6-foot-3 native of Bulacan had 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting, 21 rebounds, four steals, an assist, and a block to power Shih Hsin to an 11-0 regular season sweep.
A strong start by the Tigers paved the way for the rout. The defending champions led 21-11 in the opening quarter, then 47-26 entering halftime.
Supporting Animam was Chen Yuti, who fired six triples for 20 points. Lin Die added 15 points and seven boards.
Fo Guang, who dropped to 8-3, was led by senior Yang Wanlin with 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Yang’s fellow senior Wang Lingting added 18 markers.
Animam and SHU will be the top seed heading into the playoffs starting February.
