Jack Animam dominates anew as SHU rolls to 4-0 in UBA

On the one year anniversary of Gilas Women’s gold medal feat in the 30th Southeast Asian Games, Jack Animam honored the occasion.

The National University product led Shih Hsin University’s 114-30 decimation of National Cheng Kung in the 2020-21 University Basketball Alliance, Wednesday at the Shixin University Gym.

The 22-year-old Bulacena tallied 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting, to go along with 13 boards, two steals, and a block. And she did this in just 14 minutes of game time.

It was utter domination by the defending champions, limiting NCKU to just 12 first-half points and four third-quarter points.

Chen Yuti tallied 14 points on four triples with three steals and three assists. Lin Die added 14 points, six rebounds, four steals, and two assists, while Lin Yuanhua made 13.

African student-athlete Deborah Onianwa played her best game of the season with 12 points, eight rebounds, three steals, and three blocks.

SHU went up to 4-4 while dropping NSKU to an even 2-2 slate.

Wang Yunyu was the sole bright spot for NSKU with 15 points – all from downtown.

NSKU shot just 22.7-percent from the field compared to 55.9-percent for SHU.

SHU will next face Taipei Business University on Friday.
