Christian “Iy4knu” Manaog and Kairi “Kairi” Raysdelsol went ham in Game Three, leading ONIC PH’s 2-1 reverse sweep of listless Cignal Ultra in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Seven regular season, Friday.
Kairi’s Selena unleashed timely arrows to set the tempo for ONIC PH in the early game. He dished out 14 assists along with four kills without a death to win the Smart MVP award in Game Three.
Meanwhile, Iy4knu finished with nine kills and six assists against two deaths playing Harith. He led the offensive strike in the 24-10 series-clinching win.
After losing their first five games, Cignal Ultra amped things up as early as the opener.
Not even the heroics of Kairi’s Kagura, who stole the lord at the 16:10-mark with Flameshot, could save ONIC PH from Cignal Ultra’s Bruno-Estes combo in Game One.
That 1-2 punch — along with the Zhask which they picked last in the draft — proved to be enough as Cignal drew first blood through a 15-14 victory which lasted for almost 21 minutes.
Bryan “Janus” Badando — who made the switch from the jungle to the gold lane — was named the SMART MVP with nine kills and two assists against four deaths playing Zhask.
A botched Diggie feeding attempt evened the series as ONIC PH picked a Benedetta, who has multiple dashes and escape mechanics in her kit, for Jaylord “Hate” Gonzales.
The unkillable Uranus of Gerald “Dlar” Trinchera also proved to be a vital piece in ONIC PH’s victory, singlehandedly manning the frontline en route to the 39-7 Game Two win.
He put up 12 assists along with three kills and three deaths, but none of it was more important than the 173,575 damage he took throughout the 16:21-minute match.
ONIC PH will remain at the fourth spot in Group B with seven points and a 3-2 card while Cignal suffered its sixth-straight defeat in as many outings with two points.
The two-time MPL-Philippines second placers look to sweep its season match-up against defending champion BREN Esports tomorrow at 6:00 pm while Cignal Ultra looks to break into the win column against Work Auster Force later in the day at 4:30.
