Is Darius Days on his way out of TNT?
That’s the question surrounding the Tropang 5G ahead of their matchup against the Converge FiberXers tonight at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Just hours before tipoff, Australia’s National Basketball League club Illawarra Hawks announced that it had signed Days to a one-year contract.
“You don’t forget a player who helped deliver a championship. Darius gave us rebounding and outside shooting when we needed it most. Subject to NBL approval, we’re looking forward to what he adds to this squad for NBL27,” said Hawks team manager Mat Campbell on bringing back Days, who was part of the team’s championship campaign in 2024.

Despite the announcement, multiple sources closely monitoring the situation said Days remains under a guaranteed contract with TNT through August.
The PBA is scheduled to take a break beginning August 14 for the FIBA window and the Asian Games, while the NBL’s 2026-27 season tips off on September 19.
TNT has struggled to start the 2026 PBA Governors’ Cup, entering its game against Converge with a 1-2 record. Days has averaged 18.0 points and 5.7 rebounds through three games.
In the Tropang 5G’s most recent outing—a stunning 111-106 loss to Terrafirma—Days was limited to just 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting from the field while grabbing five rebounds.
