Halftime scuffle erupts between Meralco and San Miguel

Another scuffle between PBA and corporate rivals — this time between San Miguel Beermen and Meralco Bolts — occurred on Sunday night at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.

The incident broke during the halftime break of the match, with the Beermen ahead comfortably 51-39. According to eye witnesses, the heated moment involved SMB’s Chris Ross and Meralco’s Kelly Nabong and Allen Durham.

According to the witnesses, it all started when Ross and Durham taunted each other on their way to the dugout. Nabong apparently did not like what he saw from Ross, charing at the latter afterwards.

The wide-bodied Nabong was ably stopped by a handful of security personnel, and tension between the two camps dwindled.

Both Meralco and San Miguel are hard-pressed to win Sunday’s game, for a victory tonight will give them much better positioning for the upcoming quarterfinals, which will commence this Tuesday.
