After two years with the franchise, star playmaker Gyzelle Sy has signed a one-year contract with the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors.
Despite initial reports of a move to RC Cola- Army, Sy re-signed with the Lady Warriors last week.
Sy was the starting setter when the Lady Warriors won their first championship in the Shakey’s V-League Season 13 Open Conference. The former UAAP Best Setter then played a pivotal off-the-bench role in her squad’s run to another championship in the Reinforced Conference.
“Gy has been with the team for more than a year now so she is familiar with the offensive sets of the team.
“She played a big role in securing our two championships for the year and our policy has always been to retain our core players to the extent of our capabilities,” said Pocari Sweat team manager Atty. Eric Ty.
The Lady Warriors recently made waves after signing open hitter Myla Pablo to a monumental five-year deal. The franchise then picked up Fille Cainglet-Cayetano to back-up Pablo.
Signing Sy shows Pocari’s commitment to maintaining their newly-established winning culture.
