Chin Basas, Gyzelle Sy join Cignal

Cignal announced the signing of two former Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws for the 2023 Premier Volleyball League season.

Outside hitter Toni Rose Basas and veteran setter Gyzelle Sy are joining the HD Spikers, who are handled by their ex-Lady Tamaraws head coach Shaq delos Santos.

Basas was part of PLDT over the past two seasons. The 26-year-old spiker also had stints with Petron and Generika-Ayala.

Meanwhile, Sy is making a return to the big league.

The 5-foot setter previously played for Chery Tiggo in the 2021 season. She was with Imus-AJAA during the PNVF Champions League for Women last year.

The 31-year-old playmaker was also part of the Pocari Sweat dynasty in the mid 2010s.

The HD Spikers opted not to renew six players for this year, namely Klarisa Abriam, Ayel Estranero, Angeli Araneta, Marist Layug, Joy Dacoron, and Arianne Layug.
