Guillian Quines isn’t just chasing numbers — he’s chasing a championship.
As the NCAA Season 100 Juniors Basketball Tournament heats up, the La Salle Green Hills guard has emerged as the heart of the Greenies’ campaign, determined to push them into the Final Four.
LSGH currently sits in second place, tied with Malayan, San Beda, and Letran — all holding identical 3-2 win-loss records.
The Greenies recently claimed a crucial victory, upsetting San Beda, who had started the tournament strong with three consecutive wins.
However, LSGH has struggled to build consistent momentum, alternating between wins and losses throughout the season.
On the positive side, Quines has been a steady force for the Greenies, consistently carrying the team’s scoring load.
After five games, the 18-year-old guard from Las Piñas is averaging 23.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per contest.
Despite his impressive numbers, Quines remains focused on giving his best effort rather than dwelling on individual achievements.
“‘Di ko naman iniisip ‘yung ipe-perform ko, talagang pinaka kita ko lang ‘yung best ko and binigay ko ‘yung lahat,” he shared.
While Quines shows promise for the future, the six-foot guard from Las Piñas is staying grounded, choosing to focus on the present and his team’s immediate goals.
“‘Di ko talaga iniisip muna yan kasi mape-pressure lang ako pag inisip ko ‘yan, so one step at a time lang ako,” he said when asked about his plans for college.
“Focus muna na makuha namin ‘yung final four spot talaga and pumasok kami ng championship.”
