Goldwin Monteverde resigns as Batangas-Tanduay head coach, to focus on NU

Goldwin Monteverde’s stint with MPBL club team Batangas-Tanduay has ended after just six months.

Monteverde has resigned as the head coach of the Athletics, as multiple sources closely monitoring the situation told Tiebreaker Times

The reason? The decorated juniors basketball tactician wants to focus solely on the campaign of National University-Nazareth School in the on-going UAAP Season 82 Boys’ Basketball Tournament.

The Bullpups, who are currently 2-0, are gunning for back-to-back crowns in the UAAP.

Assistants Rena Baena, Bernard de Guia, Marvin Carro, and Niko Abatayo also stepped down from the team.

Batangas currently sits at 12-7 in the South Division of the MPBL Lakan Cup.

The club team is currently eyeing Woody Co as a replacement. But the Athletics have little time to wait, as their next game will be on November 23 against the Mindoro Tamaraws in Davao City.
