Tasked to be the team’s ‘glue guy,’ Jonah Sabete made sure to deliver in Petro Gazz’s semis-clinching win over F2 Logistics on Tuesday night.
The former Sta. Lucia hitter, who returned to the same team that she helped win the 2019 PVL Reinforced Conference title, scored 18 big points — all of which came from attacks — in the Angels’ 25-14, 22-25, 25-20, 25-19 win over the Cargo Movers in the quarterfinals of the 2022 Open Conference.
On her part, Sabete is just happy to repay the unwavering trust that the management and coaching staff gave her.
Kaya kailangan talaga mag work.”
Looking to go for the jugular, the Angels went to Sabete in the fourth set, where she scored three consecutive points in a 4-1 run to place a five-point, 19-14 advantage for Petro Gazz.
With the win, the Angels claimed the last seat in the semifinals where they will face Cignal HD.
Sabete vowed to work even harder as they try to topple the unbeaten HD Spikers — who are currently on a five-game winning streak.
