Barangay Ginebra pulled away in the fourth quarter to deal Phoenix another loss, 109-96, to post back-to-back wins for the first time in the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup, Sunday night at the SMART Araneta Coliseum.
The Kings trailed by four three minutes into the said period but Justin Brownlee scored 10 straight to lead to a 12-0 run to make it a 93-85 lead for themselves entering the last six minutes, effectively putting them ahead for good.
Stephen Holt, RJ Abarrientos, and Scottie Thompson then came through for the breakaway, joining hands to push their lead to 104-89 with 2:04 left to play as the crowd darlings cruised to their fourth win in six outings thus far.
