Gian Mamuyac put in quarantine due to close contact

Gian Mamuyac will be out for a while.

The Rain or Shine rookie has undergone the PBA’s health and safety protocols after coming into close contact with a COVID positive individual.

Elasto Painters consultant Caloy Garcia confirmed the development, but said that the 23-year-old yielded a negative result in his antigen test.

Mamuyac is under quarantine for at least a week and will miss RoS’ Philippine Cup meeting with NorthPort on Thursday at the Ynares Center.

The fifth overall pick out of Ateneo de Manila made his pro debut in the season opener last Sunday against new member team Converge.

There, he played for just three minutes and 14 seconds off the bench and tallied two rebounds. The Elasto Painters won, 79-77.
