Gaston, Lavitoria join Wong in Choco Mucho

After signing Denden Lazaro and Deanna Wong earlier in the year, Choco Mucho has signed two more familiar faces to bolster its roster.

The Flying Titans have announced the acquisition of Ateneo outside hitter Ponggay Gaston and setter Jamie Lavitoria through their social media platform Twitter.

Gaston and Lavitoria will be joining a Choco Mucho team that has several former Lady Eagles in Wong, Lazaro, Maddie Madayag, Bea De Leon, and Kat Tolentino — alongside, of course, head coach Oliver Almadro.

This will be the first club team for the 5-foot-8 Gaston, who captained the Ateneo squad bidding for a second straight title in the cancelled UAAP Season 82.

Meanwhile, Lavitoria — who came back to exhaust her final year with the Lady Eagles in the halted season two years after taking a leave from the school — has played a crucial role with Generika-Ayala, playing as their main setter.

This addition of the two will be a welcome sight for a Choco Mucho squad that finished seventh during the 2019 Premier Volleyball League Open Conference.

It is also unknown, however, when the PVL will open its doors due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
