With a league built for Filipinos, Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 found a suitable partner that is a testament to the Filipino ingenuity.
Serving as the official outfitter for the President’s Cup is Gameville Corporation, a local manufacturer of custom-made sportswear in the Philippines that has been in existence since 1997.
For Gameville owner Dioni Balagbagan, he immediately said yes to being part of Chooks 3×3 as the company behind the league shares the same ideals as he does.
“‘Pag city-based leagues, talagang naniniwala ako diyan. Yung three-on-three lalo kasi even I experienced it. Yung mga talent na hindi maka five-on-five puwede rito,” pointed out Balagbagan.
Through the years, Gameville has been a staunch supporter of leagues organized by Chooks 3×3 commissioner Eric Altamirano, including the National Basketball Training Center.
And just like the NBTC, the soft-spoken entrepreneur believes that Chooks 3×3 is a league that will be a fixture in Philippine basketball.
“First time natin magkaroon ng liga na ganito. Before parang, paisa-isa lang yung laro. Ngayon nation wide at maganda yung coverage. I’m confident na this will be a long league and we will be there all the way,” he vowed.
Besides providing apparel for all 12 teams of the league, Gameville also financed the side events for all six legs, the Slam Dunk Competition and the Three-point Shootout.
“We are glad to have a partner like Gameville, a group that shares the same vision as us,” BAVI president and Chooks 3×3 league owner Ronald Mascariñas.
“With partners like them, we are inspired to give a show that is world-class on a weekly basis.”
