Galang wants to reclaim what her injury took

Ara Galang could only watch as her Lady Spikers for the second year in a row the Ateneo Lady Eagles in the UAAP Finals last season.

Hobbled by a gruesome knee injury, Galang was deprived of ending her career season her way. After going through nearly a year of rehab, Galang regained form and played a pivotal role this season.

Finally getting a chance to prove herself in the Finals, Galang shone in La Salle’s Game One triumph over Ateneo. She scored 10 points and compiled 11 excellent receptions and seven digs.

The Lady Spikers are now just a win away from winning the championship.

Galang described the chill she felt as the match transpired.

“May goosebumps. Sobrang happy and excited kasi makakalaro na ako with the team. Ang nasa isip lang namin is to enjoy the game lang,” Galang told reporters after the match.

Although she feels ecstatic, she knows that the championship is far from theirs.

“Masaya kasi malapit na kami sa goal namin. Pero, at the same time, hindi pa tapos yung series. Lalaban pa yang Ateneo. Kailangan pa namin mag-focus para masustain ito.”

Galang wants Wednesday to be her last match in the UAAP.

“Siyempre yun ang aim ng team (Wednesday to be their last game). Yun ang aim namin so basta gagawin lang namin lahat para mangyari ang goal, mkuha ang goal namin,” she closed.
