Galang had no idea F2 Logistics snagged the first pick

Many stories were written about where Ara Galang might end up in the Philippine Superliga.

Most insisted she would enter the draft, others said she would be better off being a direct hire for the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers. Galang eventually made it to F2. How she get there was a whole different story of magical, secretive proportions.

In a sudden turn of events, F2 rose from fifth pick to the first pick thus allowing them to take the former UAAP Most Valuable Player and De La Salle University Lady Spiker.

PSL personnel were mum as to exactly what went down moments before the draft. For her part, Ara Galang was just as clueless.

“Hindi naman nila sinabi sa akin (na aangat sila ng draft). Noong una naman hindi din ako sure noong una kung magpapadraft ako or hindi,” Galang said after being drafted.

There was also a sense of relief for Galang who revealed she always wanted to go to F2, a team that is composed of fellow La Sallians and coach Ramil De Jesus as mentor.

However, a lot of fuss was made about Galang’s knee injury. PSL press releases had her dropping low in the draft as team executives were reportedly worried about the bone bruises in her right knee. Galang, on her part, says the criticisms are valid.

Just as she had before, Galang is determined to overcome this injury.UAAP-78-Volleyball-F4-DLSU-vs.-FEU-Galang-8436 Galang had no idea F2 Logistics snagged the first pick News PSL Volleyball - philippine sports news

“Totoo naman yun. Since after season, wala pa akong training. Kaya nagaalanganin talaga ako magpadraft noong una,” she shared. “Gagamitin ko na lang siyang challenge for me. I’m confident naman na makakabalik ako sa kondisyon for the team.”

“I just feel really blessed na sa dami ng nagpapadraft, ako yung nauna. Sobrang nakakahumble talaga siya.”
