Monster Anarchy served as one of Omega Esports’ sparring partners in MPL Philippines’ Season Nine.
Without a doubt, it made the SMART-backed squad a much better team than before as they had a fruitful first half, finishing second in the MPL Philippines Season Nine while also collecting a bronze medal in the 2022 Mobile Legends: Southeast Asia Cup.
But it’s not just Omega Esports who benefited from the partnership as Monster Anarchy, who is now repping ONIC PH in Season 10, is taking the league by storm after snatching the top spot with a league-best 5-1 win-loss standing.
Personally, ONIC PH rising star Frince “SUPER FRINCE” Ramirez said that he learned a lot from Omega Esports, particularly from veteran middle laner Patrick “E2MAX” Caidic.
“Marami rin po akong nakukuha sa kanya kapag nagsi-scrim kami. Sa ibang teams rin sa ML kapag nakaka-scrim namin sila,” SUPER FRINCE said.
And he showed all those learnings when ONIC PH took on Omega Esports on Saturday night at the ICITE Auditorium.
With the series tied at 1-all, the 18-year-old rookie delivered a masterful performance on Selena – which is interestingly E2MAX’s signature hero – to lead ONIC PH’s reverse 2-1 sweep. He finished with a game-high eight assists along with a kill.
SUPER FRINCE made it rain in Game Three, landing crucial Abyssal Arrows, especially on Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog, which prevented ONIC PH from mounting a comeback in the decider.
“Yung sa Game Three, sinabi ko na kay coach na pwede akong mag-Selena. Yung performance ko naman hindi ko inexpect na magiging ganun,” said the former amateur standout.
ONIC PH has been a breeding ground for top tier supports in the league, producing the likes of Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna, Allen “Baloyskie” Baloy, and Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales.
SUPER FRINCE, though, does not mind the pressure laced with that, saying that he will just continue to play his game for the team.
“Wala lang sakin, nilalaro ko lang yung laro ko ngayong season pero hinahangaan ko rin sila, yung mga pos four dati sa ONIC,” he said.
ONIC PH takes the struggling TNC on Friday at 8:00 PM.
