Now entering its third year, the Philippine Superliga opened its flagship conference, the All Filipino, with a festive program that paid tribute to the fans.
“Ano pa ba masasabi ko to inspire everybody pero kami po ang in-iinspire niyo with your presence. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat,” LVPI president Joey Romasanta opened. “Nais po naming ipahatid na Philippine Volleyball is now enjoying the credibility given by the AVC and the FIVB. Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyo!”
The ceremony opened with a jaw-dropping performance by the reigning NCAA cheerleading champions the Altas Perps Squad that pumped up the audience.
This was then followed by the introduction of all the teams:
Following a dance number by the players themselves, PSL events director Dr. Ian Laurel introduced the official mascot of the PSL, Spikey, while, in a surprise, the winner of the mascot naming contest represented the fans in declaring the games open.
“I, fans of the PSL, officially declare the 2016 PSL All-Filipino Conference open!,” the thousands in attendance declared in unison.
The Cignal HD Spikers take on the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers in the opening game of the conference while the defending PSL All-Filipino Champions Petron Tri-Activ Spikers face the AVC Philippine representatives Foton Toplander in the main game.
