Fnatic ONIC PH crushes RSG PH to stay undefeated in MPL PH 14

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Fnatic ONIC Philippines is now just one win away from sweeping the first round of the regular season after a commanding 2-0 victory over RSG Philippines in MPL Philippines Season 14 on Friday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

It was an almost flawless performance by the entire Fnatic-partnered squad in Game 2, with only Boris “Brusko” Parro (Grock) and Jann “Kirk” Gutierrez (Edith) being slain by RSG, while the other three members finished with perfect games.

The decisive moment came for the Sonics during an 11-minute and 40-second clash in the bottom lane, where Brusko initiated a teamfight that resulted in a three-for-zero trade. From there, they finished the game a few seconds later with a straight push through the mid-lane.

Brusko and Kirk finished the game with a combined KDA of five kills, 11 assists, and two deaths.

As for the game, the series, nakakatuwa, nakakatuwang panoorin. Nakakagaang ng pakiramdam. After ng game, actually isa sa mga nilapitan ko agad si Kelra. Sinabi ko sa kanya, ‘Ano kamusta pakiramdam na wala kang ginawa sa larong ito?’ Because, to be honest, grabe kasi yung ginawa nung apat, and I think medyo malaki yung impact niya,” said head coach Anthony “Ynot” Senedrin during the post-match interview.

“Kasi since Omega days, alam niyo naman yung mga pinagdaanan niya as a player. Being considered ‘Gold Standard,’ and it’s just amazing to see na yung mga ginagawa namin sa scrim, yung mga ginagawa nila, may mga conditions na kailangan namin na parang nagiging automatic sa kanila on the stage. I am very happy,” he continued.

“As for the win streak, it’s just a bonus. Kasi isa lang naman hinihingi ko sa kanila eh. Hinihingi ko lang sa kanila [is] play as a team, make sure na we just do our best, trust each other, and have confidence sa kung ano yung kalalabasan,” he concluded.

Duanne “Kelra” Pillas (Roger), Frince “Super Frince” Ramirez (Vexana), and King “K1NGKONG” Perez (Ling) shone in Game 1, with all three delivering dominant performances and finishing the game without deaths.

FNOP punished RSG in the early minutes of the match, which worked in their favor until the end.

Fnatic ONIC Philippines will face Falcons AP.Bren on Sunday at 5:00 p.m., while RSG Philippines will look to bounce back against Smart Omega on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Both matches will be held at the same venue.
