Five F2 Logistics players invited to tryout for PWNVT

BACARRA, ILOCOS NORTE — Five F2 Logistics players have been invited to try out with the Philippine women’s national volleyball pool in Batangas.

National Teams Commission chairman Tony Boy Liao confirmed the development.

Cargo Movers’ Dawn Macandili, Kim Fajardo, Ara Galang, Kianna Dy, and Tin Tiamzon — who are also training with F2 in Batangas — were given a chance to try out for the national team.

On Saturday afternoon, videos and photos that surfaced online placed Macandili, Dy, and Tiamzon with the National team bound for the Asian Volleyball Championships this August 27.

All five players were not part of the 16-player pool that was initially released by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation.

Fajardo, Dy, and Macandili were invited to the tryouts in Ilocos Norte but did not attend.

National team coach Jorge Edson Souza de Brito is expected to add another set of players once the PVL bubble ends.

Leading the women’s pool are mainstays Jaja Santiago, Aby Maraño, Majoy Baron, Mylene Paat, and Eya Laure.

Also part of the squad are veterans Iris Tolenada, Ria Meneses, and Dell Palomata, and collegiate stars Faith Nisperos, Alyssa Solomon, Mhicaela Belen, Ivy Lacsina, Jennifer Nierva, Kamille Cal, Imee Hernandez and Bernadette Pepito.

According to Liao, Souza de Brito will have the final say in the 14-man team for the AVC.
