Fil-Ams Mau, Phillips, Robins-Hardy bolster Women’s Volleyball Team


Not leaving anything to chance come the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, the Philippine Women’s National Volleyball Team got an infusion Fil-American talent as United VC’s Kalei Mau and Alohi Robins-Hardy, and Sta Lucia’s MJ Phillips all made the team as prospects.

Collegiate stars Tots Carlos, Kath Arado, Celine Domingo, Gel Cayuna and Jerili Malabanan all made the seniors pool for the first time in their careers.

The rest of the 22-woman pool is made up of perennial Nationals in Alyssa Valdez, Jaja Santiago, Dawn Macandili, Majoy Baron, Denden Lazaro, Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Aby Maraño, Mika Reyes, Mylene Paat, Jema Galanza, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, and Ces Molina.

The Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. also released an Under-23 pool bannered by high school star Angel Canino and University of the Philippines’ Isa Molde.

Judith Abil, Ivana Agudo, Justine Dorog, Buding Duremdes, Alexis Miner, Rosie Rosier, Alina Bicar, Lyann De Guzman, Mafe Galanza, Lycha Ebon, KC Galdones, Imee Hernandez, Justine Jazareno, Ysa Jimenez, Marist Layug, Alleiah Malaluan, Mary Anne Mendrez, and Faith Nisperos round out the pool.
