Using this time as a way to reconnect and stay in shape at the same time, alumnus and the coaching staff of Far Eastern University found a unique way to do so.
Biking enthusiasts and Tamaraws assistant coaches Allan Albano, Jonathan De Guzman, and Marvin Valderrama have organized rides for them to enjoy and keep in shape that began during the third week of the implementation of the modified general quarantine in the Metro.
Since then, other Tamaraws joined in including deputy head coach Nash Racela; players like Roger Pogoy, Mike Tolomia, Barkley Ebona, and Ron Dennison; and head utility Rene Tabasin.
“Even if we are representing different teams in the PBA, our connection should not stop after basketball. We always value the importance of lifelong relationships in FEU,” said Racela, who steered the Tamaraws to the UAAP Season 78 championship.
The group usually bikes for 50-kilometers with different starting points. Sometimes the group meets in Katipunan, Mandaluyong, Fairview, or even Morayta.
Last Wednesday, the group ended up in Antipolo.
Of course, the Tamaraws only have a few hours to enjoy the scenery before going back home before curfew hours.
Racela shared that they have inspired other Tamaraws like Mac Belo, Russel Escoto, and Ino Comboy to join in.
