FEU completes perfect UAAP season, wins fourth straight Women’s Football title

Far Eastern University completed a flawless campaign in the UAAP Season 88 Collegiate Women’s Football Tournament, capping an undefeated run with a 2-0 victory over De La Salle University in the championship game, Saturday at the UP Diliman Football Stadium.

The Lady Tamaraws not only secured their fourth consecutive crown but also clinched their 14th overall title, solidifying their status as the most successful program in the women’s division.

FEU is the first team to accomplish a ‘four-peat’ since La Salle’s dynasty from Seasons 65–68.

“It’s a good gift for the graduating players,” said coach Let Dimzon. “Experiencing four championships tapos ga-graduate sila — for them, it’s memorable. Even before we went here, they were very confident na makukuha namin yung game.”

FEU set the tone early as Judie Arevalo’s 15th-minute header off a corner kick put the Lady Tamaraws on the path to glory.

La Salle pressed for an equalizer, but chances from Jodie Banzon, Chenny Dañoso, and Mikaela Villacin missed the mark.

Failing to convert those opportunities ultimately cost La Salle, as FEU held firm to retain its crown.

In the 90+3 minute, second-half substitute and 2025 FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup national team member Regine Rebosura capped off her collegiate career with a goal off another corner to seal the win.

“Lahat ng mga pinaghirapan namin, it’s not about the game, it lies behind the sacrifices namin during the training,” said Dimzon.

I think lahat ng mga paghihirap nila, mga sacrifices nila, napalitan na. Nahirapan kami with La Salle. There’s a lot of good attacking also from La Salle. Yun lang talaga, yan yung winning mentality ng FEU na hindi kami bibigay.”

The Lady Tamaraws’ winning streak now stands at 13 games dating back to the second round of Season 87, and they remain unbeaten in 32 matches overall.

This championship also marks FEU’s second collegiate title this Season 88, following their earlier triumph in women’s athletics.

With the collegiate men’s and high school boys’ football divisions still underway, FEU has a chance to secure its fourth treble.

During the awarding ceremony, several players were recognized for their standout performances.

Lady Tamaraws captain Jonela Albino claimed the Most Valuable Player award, while teammates Regine Rebosura and Jessa May Lehayan earned Best Midfielder and Best Goalkeeper honors, respectively.

Arevalo, who finished the tournament with eight goals, took the Golden Boot award.

From La Salle, Elisha Lubiano and Jodie Banzon were named Best Defender and Rookie of the Year.
