Eya Laure is one of the most-anticipated rookies, given the circumstances that kept her from immediately jumping to the senior’s division two years ago.
While many expect her to already play beyond her rookie status, the University of Santo Tomas lifer urges fans to temper their expectations.
Laure was slow to produce in UST’s second outing, struggling early against the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles. The 5-foot-10 spiker finished with 12 points, but it was not enough to get the Tigresses past Ateneo.
For now, Laure is still wading her way through the UAAP Women’s Volleyball division. She wants to eventually find her fire on the court.
“Siguro, ‘yung swag,” Laure replied when asked about what was missing in her game.
