Ex-Red Warriors Edgar Charcos, Bonbon Batiller figure in friendly banter

For two years, Edgar Charcos and Bonbon Batiller fought alongside one another with the University of the East Red Warriors. However, when Derrick Pumaren decided to clean house last year, the two were forced to go their separate ways.

Batiller first went to Arellano before deciding to settle at Letran. On the other hand, Charcos headed to Las Piñas to enroll in Perpetual Help.

Friday afternoon, the two shared the same court once again. However, they were on different sides and were even tasked to guard one another.

Having known each other for so long, Battiler tried to fool with Charcos, who was on fire all game long.

“Siguro challenge yun sa akin kasi alam niya rin yung laro ko dahil nagsama kami,” shared Charcos, who was limited to just 25 minutes due to foul trouble.

“Kaya ayun, hindi ko pinansin mga sinasabi niya, focused pa rin.

“Hindi naman ako inaasar, sinasabihan lang na ‘dahan-dahan’ ka lang. May plano talaga si coach na tumakbo ako so ayun,” the 5-foot-8 floor general added.

But Charcos was able to get the last laugh, as Perpetual picked up a 78-75 win over Letran. In addition, the heads-up match-up between them proved lopsided, as the now-Perpetualite finished with 27 points on 9-for-12 shooting compared to just five points from the Letranite.

But at the end of the day, the two will still share laughs and memories of the time they spent together in UE.
