EASL: Seoul SK catches fire late, boots out TNT

Though faring better this time around, TNT still could not get the elusive victory.

The Tropang Giga were overwhelmed by Korean Basketball League team Seoul SK in crunchtime, losing their final assignment in the 2023 East Asia Super League Champions Week, 69-80, at Nikkan Arena in Utsunomiya.

Coming off a 66-99 defeat at the hands of the Brex, TNT kept pace with Seoul SK in the first three quarters, only trailing 55-57 entering the final frame.

The trio of Leon Williams, Kim Sunhyung, and Jameel Warney linked up, towing the Knights to a blistering 13-4 blast to gain the lead for good.

TNT could not recover from there, bowing out of the tournament winless.

Kim and Warney led the way for the Knights with 21 points apiece with the latter also dishing out nine assists. Williams also grabbed 21 rebounds for the Knights, who will advance to the third place game.

Calvin Oftana paced the Tropang Giga with 16 points while Mikey Williams added 12 points and four assists. Daniel Ochefu hauled down 12 boards as well.

San Miguel is the only remaining PBA team in the tournament. They fight for deal life against the other KBL representative in Anyang KGC on Saturday.
