National University hardly broke a sweat against Ateneo de Manila University to begin the Lady Bulldogs run for second straight championship in UAAP women’s volleyball.
They swept the Blue Eagles by wide margins, 25-15, 25-20, 25-16, Saturday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
But NU leaders Alyssa Solomon and Mhicaela Belen would not want to stop with a dominant opening win.
The two agreed that despite being happy with the win, they are far from their peak yet.
The Season 84 Rookie MVP emphasized though that errors were a problem they have to resolve still.
The Lady Bulldogs committed 19 unforced errors, including two late in the third set when Ateneo made a mini rally to inch closer.
“Marami pa kami masyadong error and I think kaya pa po namin i-improve yun,” added Belen, who had eight points on five spikes, two aces, and a block.
National U will look to polish its game more on Wednesday at 10 am when it meets Adamson University, which earlier drubbed University of the East in straight sets fashion as well.
