Despite a troublesome trip back in 2017 that saw him get kicked out of TNT KaTropa before even playing a game, Denzel Bowles will still be making his way back into the PBA.
Bowles will serve as the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters’ reinforcement in the 2019 Commissioner’s Cup, as confirmed by team insiders.
The 6-foot-10 American center is coming off a stint with Kanazawa Samuraiz in the second division of the Japan B.League. He averaged 21.9 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.
Bowles’ arrival to the Elasto Painters camp will reunite him with James Yap, whom he played alongside in the 2012 Commissioner’s Cup with the B-Meg Llamados for his first pro stint.
Bowles steered that team to the title thanks to his game-saving freebies that sent the match into an extra period, where they would go on to finish the Talk N Text Tropang Texters.
He was about to play for the Texters back in 2017 but issues surrounding his attitude gave him the boot.
