A rematch six months in the making
Denice Zamboanga (8-1) is set to settle some unfinished business against rival Seo Hee Ham (24-8) on ONE X which takes place on March 26 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
“Sobrang grateful ko na binigyan nila ako ng chance,” said Zamboanga, who is currently in quarantine in Bangkok, Thailand.
“Sobrang excited ako siyempre kasi opportunity yun na prove ko na ako yung nanalo.”
Back on September 3, the two faced off in a first round clash in the ONE Atomweight World Grand Prix during ONE: Empower.
It was a banger of a bout that saw Zamboanga dominate on the ground to avoid the striking of Ham.
However, the three judges scoring the bout at ringside ruled the match in favor of Ham.
The result of the bout was blasted by fans, seeing that Zamboanga won the bout unanimously.
After a review however, ONE upheld the decision. Ham though was forced to withdraw from the Grand Prix due to injury.
“I really respect Ham and ONE Championship. Kailangan natin sila resputuhin dahil hindi naman nila kasalanan yung decision ng judges,” Zamboanga told The Game.
“Until now, para sa akin, ako yung nanalo sa laban na yun. Inisip ko yung training ko at effort ng coaches at teammates ko. Pero moving forward, tuloy pa rin ang buhay.”
Now, it’s either Zamboanga can exact vengeance or Ham can prove that she was the victor.
This time around, Zamboanga is looking to finish Ham.
“My biggest lesson was I should have finished her ng maaga at sana hindi ko dinaanan sa desisyon yung laban.”
