Dennis ‘Delta’ Pineda will not just be the current governor of the province of Pampanga moving forward.
The PBA has received a notice that Pineda has been appointed by Converge as its new team governor, according to multiple league sources.
With this, the 48-year-old politician and basketball enthusiast will now be the one who will represent the FiberXers on the PBA board.
Meanwhile, former PBA commissioner Chito Salud will still remain with Converge as alternate governor.
Pineda was previously tapped by Converge as its ‘player development’ consultant back in March 2022 before being named as team manager later in the year.
Known for his love for basketball, Pineda is also a champion coach, steering Pampanga to multiple NBL-Pilipinas titles and, most recently, the PSL championship.
In its maiden season in the PBA, the team owned by Dennis Anthony Uy made the quarterfinals in all three conferences.
The FiberXers ended their first season with an even 19-19 slate.
