Del Carmen’s clutch triple seals Biñan-Tatak Gel escape over RK Hoops-QC for WMPBL third seed

Biñan-Tatak Gel closed out the 2026 Women’s Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League regular season on a high note, fending off RK Hoops-Quezon City 10ACT, 75-71, on Sunday at the Alonte Sports Arena.

The Angels appeared headed for a comfortable victory after building a commanding 19-point advantage, 67-48. However, RK Hoops-Quezon City 10ACT mounted a spirited comeback behind Tantoy Ferrer, who spearheaded a 23-8 run that trimmed the deficit to just four points late in the game.

Biñan-Tatak Gel regained its composure when Monique Del Carmen drained a crucial three-pointer, extending the lead to 75-64 with 1:14 remaining and helping the Angels withstand the late rally to secure the win.

Despite ending the regular season with a 3-7 record, RK Hoops-Quezon City 10ACT still secured the fourth seed and a twice-to-beat advantage in the quarterfinals.

Ferrer delivered a monster double-double of 25 points and 20 rebounds, but her efforts were not enough to lift the Quezon City-based squad to victory.
