Dalph Panopio’s return to being an amateur is now complete.
This as the Filipino-Italian floor general has committed to Division I school Cal State Bakersfield, Thursday.
Back in 2018, the 6-foot-1 guard played for Roseto in pro league Legadue Gold. He averaged 1.56 points in just nine games played.
The NCAA though has a loophole in which one can reclassify and be eligible back to the collegiate ranks.
In 2019, Panopio, a product of Gilas Youth, went to community college South Plains College.
Gaining his amateur status back, he was recruited and eventually signed by the Roadrunners.
Cal State Bakerfield’s basketball program has been on the rise during the last few years after it entered the NCAA tournament back in 2016 — the first in program history.
It currently competes in the Big West Conference.
In 2019, the Road Runners made it to the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament.
