Creamline taps Turkish import Basa; Choco Mucho gets Uzbek Aliyeva

Creamline picked up Turkish spiker Yeliz Basa while Choco Mucho brought in Uzbek-Azerbaijani hitter Odina Aliyeva for the upcoming 2022 Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference.

The 6-foot-2 Basa had stints with the NEC Red Rockets in Japan and Nakhon Ratchasima in Thailand. She last played for Bodrumspor in Turkey.

Basa will join a stacked Cool Smashers wing rotation that has two-time PVL MVP Tots Carlos, Alyssa Valdez, Jema Galanza, and Michelle Gumabao.

Creamline, after winning the Open and Invitational Conferences, is out for a grand slam this Reinforced Conference.

Meanwhile, the 6-foot-1 Aliyeva’s packed international portfolio saw her play in Azerbaijan, Italy, Turkey, Indonesia, the United States, and Brazil. Her latest stint was in Indonesia where she played for Jakarta Elektrik PLN.

She will be reinforcing a Flying Titans side that was coming off a franchise-worst seventh-place finish in the Invitationals where they also lost reliable middle blocker Aduke Ogunsanya to an ACL tear.

Aliyeva will load up Choco Mucho’s wing rotation which includes Kat Tolentino, Des Cheng, Ponggay Gaston, and Isa Molde.

The Reinforced Conference is set to begin on October 8.
